HILLINGDON CYCLE CIRCUIT E123 RACE 25TH AUGUST

A perfect day for racing!! nice and hot just how I like it.  I rode over to Hillingdon today to get a good warm up in before the race as the guys usually like to start with lots of attacks and I wanted to be in the break today if possible.   Sure enough the race started with attacks with Matt Seaton from Rapha Condor leading a 3 man break early on in the race.  I jumped across with Adam Norris of PCA and some other guys from AW cycles.  We caught the leading 3 and worked hard to keep the break away until we eventually lapped the field.  We had a good break of 7 guys but it was clear with about 20 laps to go a few of the guys where suffering with the pace.  I was feeling good and was enjoying racing on old turf!!   With 10 laps to go AW cycles start the 1,2 attacks which put a few of the guys off the back, then with 7 laps to go the pace dropped and the sprints started! In my opinion a bit too early as it gave to guys the chance to catch our group by the last 2 laps! I attacked a few times hoping they may let me go but no way!!  Matt Seaton and an AW rider clipped of the front  which left us sprinting for 3rd place. In first place was AW cycles, 2nd Matt Seaton from Rapha and I sprinted my little legs off and came 10th.

A good ride just what I needed before heading off to France next week for some races.    I am racing on Monday in another criterium at Dunton which is perfect preparation before the criterium races in France then back to Italy for the Giro Del Toscana.
