2XU - By Leda Cox – February 2008

I am delighted that 2XU are supporting me this season with their quality Compression and cycling wear.  I have been wearing the 2XU compression tights and long sleeved compression top for the past 10 days, in which time I have been amazed to see how different my muscles feel after wearing the compression tights even for shorts spells of around 40 minutes.

The 2XU Compression tights are made of 50 denier lycra with a circular knit high gauge construction, which leaves your legs feeling nice and warm and super compressed without ever being uncomfortable.

The tights work by removing the waste products that can leave your legs feeling tired and heavy after training and racing. The tights give you that extra edge by helping to push the blood back up through the circulatory system aiding in removing the Lactic Acid which in turn improves recovery and reduces muscle fatigue.

The Compression top works in the same way as the tights leaving your muscles stress free with the added bonus of looking very stylish! I have found that it can also be worn as a supportive under vest during training.

I was a little unsure about what size to have so I opted for a size smaller than I would normally be to make sure the compression wear was tight enough to the optimal benefit.

The 2XU cycling membrane jacket is one of my favourite winter tops to wear.  I have it in Red which stands out on our dull British winter days!   It is also available in black .   The Membrane jacket is designed to be fully waterproof and has a fantastic moisture vapour release system, leaving your skin feeling dry and comfortable even after a heavy training session.   I was very impressed by how comfortable the jacket felt which is quite rare with women’s clothing but they have got the design down to a perfect fit.  The pockets are bigger than a standard jacket so you can fit more food into them which is a priority through the winter months!  Another really useful feature was the high neck collar which you could also undo using a simple popper if you get too hot under the collar!

I have been able to use my Silver Light Membrane Jacket on several occasions due to our lovely British weather!  Like the Membrane Jacket mentioned above it is also made from the new membrane fabric which keeps you 100% dry and it’s a joy to wear unlike other waterproof tops make you way too hot and are defiantly not as stylish!  You can roll it the jacket up easily and it slips perfectly into your back pocket. The jacket comes in a brushed silver colour which is easy to see by other road users. This is definitely a quality jacket!
