Sunday 15th
April 2007 Ronde Van Drenthe, (8 and world Cup)
Holland. (DIARY UPDATED BELOW)
Editors note- On April the 12th Leda
continued her strong come back from her Flanders crash by
protecting her team leader Monia in the later stages and then
dropping off to finish 33rd overall.
Below are the results and a couple of pics.
These were taken by CJ Farquarson of womenscycling.net. (the
number one site for womens cycle racing in the world.)
Check out Leda's bashed leg and the fact
that she's wearing one arm warmer to cover the bare bone where
she's skinned her arm in her Flanders crash. (well, nearly
anyway!)
Below all of that is the result from the
Drenthe world Cup, where once again, Leda helped Monia to her
high placing

Leda's diary:
12th 15th and 16th
12th todays race was a
circuit race with a few sections
of pave. It was clear I could
not race let alone train without
the aid of painkillers for my
arm which was still really soar
after my crash. I could not
hold the handle bars very well
without screaming!! anyway I
wanted to race as the races is
good for me bein twisty windy
and cobbly!! we had 6 laps to
do.. the first 3 laps where easy
in comparison to the last 3!!
the hammer went down after a 2
person break was caught and then
the field was split to bits with
the first group of about 40
girls staying away for the next
3 laps. I was up front with
Monia and alessandra keeping an
eye on the moves for Monia. I
got Monai back into the firs
group after a split after the
cobbled section. we had a few k
to got before the sprint and the
frild was strung out for the
finish with Monia finishing in
the top 10 and I finished
33rd.. My legs where not up for
the finish today but I was happy
to be able to work for Monia
today. Good job done!
15th Ronde van Drenthe world
cup race.
I was looking forward to the
race today as i know the circuit
and it suits me well. We
wanted to keep Monia and me up
front which we did well and
kept in the first group after
the cobbled sections. with 25k
a crash happened and yes I was
behind the girl who crahed
again!!!! anyway down I came and
ouuuccchhhh I screamed!!!! got
back onto bike but could not get
into the first group!!! I was
very disappointed today as I
really like this circuit and I
was feeling good! the poor girl
who crashed broke her hand so I
was lucky!! Monia was safe and
managed to get another top 10
today!! a great ride!
16th Ronde van Drenthe
I woke up feeling strange
this morning but put it down to
the crashes I had and got on
with my routing before the
race! took some more
painkillers to kill the arm pain
and off we went for our last
race! I know instantly that i
did not feel right as I was
feeling sick and really
dehydrated!! I had a puncture
after 10k and pulled out of the
race after chasing hard to get
back but just had nothing to
give so called it a day and was
looking forward to resting my
arm!!!
The team did really well in
holland and Belgium!!!

RONDE VAN DRENTHE WORLD CUP. Saturday 14th April.
Leda once again was Baccaille's right hand (wo)man, protecting her before she took
9th. With around 30k to go leda was felled by yet another crash and was then stuck
with one other rider to time trial to the finish. She was, however the only
British rider to finish other than Nicole Cooke.
