Diary

 14th December 2007

Okay, it has bee way too long since my last update so I am making the most of a rest day and actually getting things done instead of going out and sitting in Starbucks!

I have had a very hectic few weeks since my last diary write up! I was at Newport track last weekend with my friend Marriane who kindly put me up in her lovely farm house in Bristol.  I was thank full that she did not ask me to milk the cows! instead I was treated to some lovely homemade cooking and some scrumptious mince pies!  We headed to the track for a Friday night 3 hour coaching session which I enjoyed a lot and felt like I had got my confidence back after not being on the track for many years now.   On Saturday I stay with Marriane and we went for a few hours on our bikes taking in the country air and pouring rain and gale force winds!! I kid you not, I nearly knocked her of her bike whilst climbing up some mountain (it felt like it with a gale force head wind!) with a head/cross wind! luckily there where no cars around when we nearly had a tumble but with Marrian's cycle cross skills she stayed upright thankfully.  I have to say I did not enjoy our ride as we got soaked and cold so we had another mince pie to cheer up!

We headed back down to the Track on Sunday with Jason Streather ( Marrian's boyfriend) who is a top guy!  we drove in convoy in the pouring rain of course! I was glad to be going indoors to train today I can tell you!   We joined in with Agisko Viner team for a very good training session and we got to ride many different event, with the sprint and points being my favourite.  I was taking tips for Janet Birkmyer along the way to see how the real Track star's do it!  I had a really great time and enjoyed the training and skills we did and I look forward to doing some track racing!

This week I have been doing some good rides mainly focusing on my cycling efficiency and doing some specific gym work which is enjoyable!

I am hoping to meet up with the Denham boys in West London tomorrow for a ride and again on Sunday.  Make the best of the sunshine as you never know when it is going to rain or even snow!

I have been finalising my team for next season and just waiting for contracts to be signed before announcing anything, so watch this space within the next few days!
